Training Journey During Covid-19 Pandemic

The world is shaken by the Covid-19 Pandemic. There have been unprecedented changes in the Globe. The Global Business has many instances of misses & some unthinkable hits. Being a Corporate Training Consultant it was quite a VUCA event to observe. Not a pleasant event though. Fear & uncertainty was in everyone’s mind during this Corona pandemic still lurking around. We all are waiting for things to go normal.

From a training Industry's point of view, it is the Hybrid model which has emerged as a new trend.

Organizations have moved towards online training solutions. Whether it’s Automobile, FMCG, Banks, IT, or any Industry vertical you take.

My interaction with the Industry has been extremely interesting and a creative journey. Demands rose for Corporate Online Training Solutions. Suddenly there was an increase of queries for Solutions like LMS, Explainer Videos, Gamification tools, etc.


It was such an excitement to speak with clients about engaging their employees. 

HR was particularly interested in increasing engagement & enhancing the knowledge & skills of their employees who were “working from home”. The good part was everyone was enrolling in online training classes. Surely was a rise in demand for online training sessions. The Learning absorption rate was on the rise. Companies who had grabbed the opportunity early for adopting the Hybrid model ensured better business performances.

In Corporate Training, Organizations that quickly went for Online Training Solutions & Hybrid models ensured healthy business performance. 


In one of the projects where I got an opportunity to conduct the Train the Trainer program to bridge the transition of classroom training to online training. This was a project that brought true excitement for a Training and Development consultant like me. I could see Trainers delivering quality sessions post TTT. I really saw the efforts are leading to ROI in training. Trainers started sharing how they now don’t feel any difference between online & classroom training.  

Of course, my own personal experience of providing Online Corporate Training Solutions for my clients in the FMCG, Education, and Agriculture Farming Industry was an experience that will always be filled with memories of participant’s excitement in the learning process & engaging them to apply the learned skills in their respective roles. Moving from a simple reaction level of feedback, which was a healthy 96% for the past 4 months. This reaction moved to the next level of Learning by clubbing Online training with online coaching. Now we are eyeing behavior change as a next level.

This Covid-19 Pandemic did bring a lot of challenges. But our resolve & resilience to carry on has ensured we keep the show running.
